Institute for Formators (IFF)

History and Aim of the Institute
The Institute for Formators was set up by the Major Superiors of the Nigeria Conference of Women Religious (NCWR) in 1990. The Institute is a collaborative venture of the Nigeria Conference of Women Religious and the Conference of Major Superiors (Men).

The Institute is established and administered for the training of those who may be appointed to be in-charge of religious and priestly formation.

Vision Statement
The Institute for Formators, Du is a centre which facilitates the integral formation of each participant - rooted in the internationalization of Christian and human values - including the acquisition of skills and principles to prepare effective formators.

Admission Policy
To be admitted for training in the Institute, an applicant should be:
• Be finally professed (Sisters/ Brothers) or ordained to the priesthood.
• Have completed a tertiary level of education.
• Be recommended by their Major Superiors or Bishops.
• Be designated an aspect of initial or ongoing religious or priestlyformation.

The Core Team and Support Staff
The core team, in collaboration with other resource persons, who come to give lectures or facilitate workshops are priests and sisters drawn from different religious institutions and Diocese. Also lay facilitators come from the University of Jos and elsewhere as the need arises.
